第一个whether在句子里的意思并不是“是否”，“whether…or whether”是一个整体，表达了“是……还是……”的意思，这两个句子并不难，但是有一些固定的结构拉得很远，让人容易疏忽。两个whether后面的句子应该是一个并列的关系，那么后面一句说的是起源，前面一句就也是起源。

2.但是科学给我们提供了对未来最好的向导，而且国家乃至世界将重要的政策基于最好的判断标准——科学可以提供有关于现在行为而引起的未来的结果受到了批评。
第二句总是看的似是而非。

2，definitely 是修饰is 表示明确得，我理解成修饰warming 表示显著的
3，enlisted 这里表示招募，征召的意思，我理解成支持，赞助的意思
4，第二句话，看过答案再看我的翻译，好拗口em18
