为啥有些动词不用ING形式？

1. Support to help them deal in other leass damaging wass with the reasons that caused them to smoke.这里的SUPPORT为什和不是supporting.
2. understand people‘ needs are not for the product or service, but for what that Will do for them这里的undstand为什么不是 understanding
