【典型难句】Financial regulation will have to catch up with the most irresponsible practices that led banks down in this road, in hopes of averting the next crisis, which is likely to involve different financial techniques and different sorts of assets. 【结构图解】 ![]()
【要点注释】动词短语catch up with原意为“跟上，赶上”，此处引申翻译为“应对”，为使文章流畅，增加词语为“与时俱进、设法应对”。另一个难点是practices that led banks down in this road，其中this road指代前一段提到的一些金融机构的做法。可将“名词+定语从句”翻译为一个独立的句子，转换句子结构。 【难句精译】使银行踏上这条路的做法是极不负责任的，金融管理规定必须与时俱进、设法应对，以期防止下次可能涉及不同类型金融技术和不同种类资产的危机。 （本句来源于考研英语（二）2009年真题，Section Ⅳ Translation 第四段；考研英语二真题超细解【考研1号】《考研圣经》Page 591.）
