二、短语积累，数量不多，现买现会，花2分钟背下来吧
1、shed light on sth 使某事清楚些，解释
例句：Your statement does not shed light on the subject.
你的发言并没有说明问题。
2、speculate in  投机
例句：We will do whatever we can to reduce the opportunities to speculate in the stock and futures markets.
我们将尽一切力量，减少投机者在证券和期货市场兴波作浪的机会。
3、at stake  危如累卵,危险
例句：The life of the sick man is at stake.
病人的生命危在旦夕。
4、stumble across/upon  偶然发现
例句：I stumble upon the rare book in a second-hand bookstore.
我在一家旧书店偶然找到这本珍贵的书。
5、submit to 屈服
例句：He was too proud to submit to such treatment.
他的自尊心太强，不甘于受那种对待。
6、be uneasy about the future 对前途担忧

7、vice versa 反之亦然
例句：Nowadays girls try to pick up guy more than vice versa.
这年头啊是女孩想追男孩，而不是男孩追女孩。


三、相近词辨析，适用于完型填空。

(1) rate/ratio/proportion

rate：率，说明某现象发生的频率或强度，又称为率，强度相对数。
例句：China's life expectancy rate, child mortality rate as well as adult literacy rate have improved significantly.
中国人的预期寿命大大延长，儿童的死亡率显着下降，成人的文化水平也大幅度提升。
ratio：比，两个相关指标之比，说明两指标间的比例关系，相对比。
例句：The ratio of graduate to non-graduate teachers is about 7:3.
学位教师与非学位教师的比例大约是7:3。
proportion：构成比，用来说明各构成部分在总体中所占的比重或分布，结构相对数。
例句：We must proportion the punishment to the crime.
我们必须使刑罚与罪行相当。

(2)rarely/scarcely/hardly

rarely指很少，不是常有
例句：Such fish are rarely met with in the north.
这种鱼在北方难看得到。
scarcely有不太够的意思，强调不令人满意
例句：He is scarcely the right person for the job.
他根本不适合担任这工作。
hardly指接近最低限度，几乎没有多余，强调困难，常与any,ever,at all或者动词can连用。
例句：You hardly ever see owls in the daytime.
白天几乎看不到猫头鹰。
