1. Arid regions in the southwestern United States have become increasingly inviting playgrounds for the growing number of recreation seekers who own vehicles such as motorcycles or powered trail bikes and indulge in hill-climbing contests or in caving new trials in the desert.

2. Stone does not decay, and so tools of long ago have remained when even the bones of the man who made them have disappeared without trace.

3.Insects would make it impossible for us to live in the world; they would devour all our crops and kill our flocks and herds, if it were not for the protection we get from insect-eating animals.

Arid regions in the southwesten of the Unites States have became increasingly inviting  playgrounds for the growing number of the recreative seekers who own vehicles such as motorcycles or powered trail bikes and indulge in hill-climbing contests or in caving new trails in the desert.
Stone does not decay, and so the tools of long ago have remained, when even the bones of the man who made them was disappeared without trace.
Insects would make it impossible for us to live in the world, they would devour all our flocks and herds, if it were not for the protection from the insect-eating animals.

美国北部的干燥地区渐渐变为那些正在增长的拥有一些工具,像自行车或电动车,和沉迷于登山比赛或洞穴探险的娱乐冒险者的诱人场地;
石头是不会腐烂的,所以很久很久以前的工具被遗留下来,即使当时创造这些工具的人的骨头已毫无踪迹;
