活动内容:
a.填补一下相应单词的中文释义(有一词多义的其他词义也请给出),市场统一零售价5考元一个释义

These words all mean to try to be more successful or better than sb else who is trying to do the same as you, for example in a competition, contest or election.

  Battle  can also mean ‘to deal with sth unpleasant or dangerous’:  She's still battling with a knee injury.  In this meaning it is also used with an object in American English:  He battled cancer for four years.

take sb  on  phrasal verb [ no passive ]  
to accept sb as an opponent

struggle [ I ]  
to compete or argue with sb, especially in order to get sth
The president and the parliament are struggling for power.

contest [ T ]

vie [ I ] ( rather formal )  
to compete strongly against sb in order to get sth
Several companies are vying to operate the network.

pit sb/sth against sb/sth  phrasal verb
to test sb or their strength, intelligence or determination in a contest against sb/sth else
