二、考研英语一真题长难句练习
【典型难句】Rather than concluding that children make parents either happy or miserable, Senior suggests we need to redefine happiness: instead of thinking of it as something that can be measured by momenttomoment joy, we should consider being happy as a pasttense condition. (41 words)【结构图解】

【要点注释】冒号后面的分句是对前面分句的补充说明。为了避免重复，作者分别用 rather than和 instead of两个短语表示“不……而……”。

【难句精译】大珍妮弗没有说明抚养孩子会让父母快乐还是会让父母痛苦，她只是说，我们需要重新给幸福下定义：幸福不应该以一个个快乐的瞬间来衡量;我们应该把幸福视为一种过去式。

【典型难句】Oil—rich nations are enjoying historic gains and opportunities, while major importers—including China and India, home to a third of the world’s population—confront rising economic and social costs.
【结构图解】

【要点注释】本句是由while连接的表转折的并列句，在第二个分句中，破折号引出插入语,对major importers进行举例说明，be home to…(是……的家园)修饰China and India, 相当于非限制性定语从句which are home to…。

【难句精译】石油储量丰富的国家正在享受历史性的收益和机遇，而一些主要石油进口国，包括中国和印度这两个拥有世界三分之一人口的国家，则需应对不断增长的经济和社会成本。
