我想说的是，放弃一份好工作去追逐自己的梦想，对我来说是值得的。有没有人批改一下，我怎么觉得怪怪的。

印象中 life 作不可数名词时是指生活、生命过程，即人生
而作可数名词解时是指一条条的生命
所以这里应该用单数

instead of 类似rather than 表示“是……而不是……”的意思
从词汇的本意来看就是instead of 前面的“代替”了后面的，表示了一种对后者的否定
所以用在你的句子里并不是很合适
觉得可以用by 或者through 代替instead of 来表达“通过某种方式，手段”的意思

life有下面的意思：
生命
生物
人生, 生存
His work is his whole life.
他的工作是他全部生活的寄托。
生活
The adolescent life is most important.
青春期的生活是非常重要的。
人命, 性命
During the earthquake many lives were lost.
地震中死了许多人。
一生, 终身, 终生
Have you ever visited the Great Wall in your life?
在你一生中, 你参观过长城吗?
生活方式
His way of life is rather austere.
他的生活方式相当简朴。
因此life 表示生命，性命是用复数lives.
我是这样认为的，希望大家指正
